On Sunday, June 30, 2024, many gathered for the annual Vidovdan feast day of Saint Lazar of Kosovo and the Martyrs of Kosovo and Metohije.  The day was also the celebration of the Women's Auxiliary Slava and Endowment Recognition Festivities.  The liturgy included a memorial service for all those who gave their lives for the faith before, during and after the battle of Kosovo.  Before the luncheon began a trio of singers entertained the audience with the popular song "Jecam Znjela" with the verses which highlight the sacred places of Kosovo and Metohije.  

We also had the blessing of the festal bread for the Women's Auxiliary Slava, the feast of Saint Anastasia.  The auxiliary honored Silvia Simpson as kuma for the slava and Auxiliary President Andriana Sellers greeted and thanked everyone for thier labor of love.  At the lunchoeon, our guest, Fr. Josiah Trenham from Saint Andrew Church in Riverside greeted everyone with special remarks reflecting the past sacrifices our predicesors in the faith, particularly during the Ottomon era and our current challenges in preserving the faith of the Apostles in our time.

Cathedral Dean, Fr. Nikola and Board of Trustee member Robert Sellers highlighted the work of our Cathedrla Endowment Program as the day was also spent recongnizing the enormous contribution of our endowment and legacy funds.  This year, two new endowments were honored:  The Bosko and Mirjana Djujic Memorial Endowment and the John Lovrensky Memorial Endowment both established by their respective families in honor of their loved ones.
