PARISH FESTIVELY CELEBRATES CHILDREN'S SLAVA
THE FEAST OF SAINT SAVA, THE GREAT ENLIGHTENER AND TEACHER
On Sunday, January 28 our Sunday School children and youth joyfully celebrated the feast of Saint Sava in the presence of a large number of family, parishioners and guests.  The day began with the Divine Liturgy at which the full school youth chorus beautifully sang under the direction of Vaso Katanic.  Following the liturgy, everyone gathered in the social hall for the program which included traditional poems, presentations, singing and dances all performed by our Sunday School students.  Welcome remoarks were given by Fr. Nick, Kathryn Olaiz our Executive Board President, and Carrie Bullard, our RCA President.  The program was led by two of our students, Matilda Pearce and Samantha Spilker.  At the conclusion of the program, Fr. Nick with all of the children and youth blessed the festive bread and wheat as everyone sang the hymn to Saint Sava.  After the prayer and blessing, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by our Cathedral Women's Auxiliary and wonderful homemade desserts prepared by our RCA parents.  Music for dancing and listening pleasure was provided by our talented Vaso Katanic.  We express our many thanks to God for such wonderful opportunities to glorify Him and to all the teachers and staff of our school for their assistance and help, not noly on this day, but throughout the school year.
